Chris is an Executive in Residence with True North Advisors Group.
Chris has more than 30 years of experience leading technology, education and business services companies, and has built companies from pre-revenue through more than $100 million in revenues.
Chris was an active board member and early investor in Questar, a large-scale CBA company in the education sector. Chris and his team designed and built the company’s test delivery systems for K-12 exams, eventually delivering and scoring millions of tests. The company sold in 2017 and delivered more than a 25X return to the investors.
Previously, Chris was a C-level executive of Sylvan Learning System. While at Sylvan, Chris helped launch and develop the strategy for Prometrics, a Sylvan subsidiary that pioneered international computer-based testing. At Prometrics, Chris also ran operations, supervised the technology development, and managed key accounts including ETS and Novell. Chris and his team designed the global test center operational plan for the GRE and TOEFL exams, built the test center management software for their world-wide affiliate test center network, and established more than one thousand test centers in over 100 countries. In 2000, Prometrics was sold to Thomson Reuters for $800 million.
Chris also was CEO of Caliber Learning Network from 1997 to 2000. Caliber focused on large-scale computer-based instruction for large businesses. He took the company public in 1998.
