The Challenge
The Company was a niche subsidiary of a larger corporation. With a focus on tracking art and high-value collectibles, it was not a clean fit with the parent company which tracked and managed manufacturing and technology components. The two managers wanted to create their own business plan and manage to their own objectives.
True North’s Role
The management retained True North to help them develop a plan to separate from the parent company, and to grow sales. True North assisted the management team to develop their plan, and then negotiated their purchase of the Company from the parent entity. Management was able to acquire the Company, retain access to critical technology, obtain rights to the brand, and get new options in the parent entity.
